I am originally from Panama where I was trained as an Electrical and Electronic Engineer at the Technologic University of Panama. I moved to the United States 24 years ago. I became a teacher in Texas through the University of St. Thomas in Houston and later did specialized work in Early Literacy. In 2010 I received my Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Lamar University in Beaumont Texas.
I was born and raised in Sacramento and the surrounding areas. I attended and graduated from Sacramento State’s BSW and MSW programs. While attending Sac State I was an intern with SCUSD’s Student Support Centers (called Healthy Start at that time) it was then that I knew I wanted to return after finishing my education, so I did! I have now been a School Social Worker with SCUSD for 8 years. Things that are important to me: laughing, nature, mindfulness, my family and little dog Charles, and standing up for equality and social justice.
Hi! My name is Mrs.
I was born in Pasadena, CA. My childhood was spent between Lodi, California, and Southern Africa.
I earned my B.A. in English Literature with a Minor in Communications from Wheaton College, Illinois, and went on to earn my teaching credential from CSUS (Sac State!).
My passion is to help young people see the worth and potential in themselves, and to help them become the very best that they can be, finding their joy and sharing their talents and gifts with others.
Hello! My name is Mariela Ventura. I was born in Guadalajara, Mexico, but have lived in California all my life. I have moved back and forth between the Bay Area and Sacramento. I received my Bachelor’s Degree from CSU East Bay, and my teaching credentials from Sacramento State. I live with my husband and my very cute puppy. Some things I really, really love include hiking, relaxing at beaches, playing with my puppy, and going to Disneyland!
